| 2nd Annual Charity Car Show
American Legion Post 343, Northbridge, Ma By Steven Losaw
It was a bright cool August 13th morning as my wife and I entered the carshow that had a station class. As my 57 Mercury Colony Park was in the repair shop we went with her 65 Corvair, after all it was a carshow.
The first wagon to arrive was a 1963 Rambler and soon after the ohters started arriving, there was a 1922 Ford Depot Hack, a 1941 Plymouth Woodie, a 1956 Chevrolet (yellow & white), a 1956 Chevrolet Nomad customized, a 1956 Ford Parklane, a 1959 Rambler, a 1962 Corvair and a 1962 Ford Country Squire (nine wagons total).There were three awards given in this class, the first place winner recieved a trophy and t-shirt donated by the ISWC. The winners were;
- 1st Place - Ron Bedard 1956 Ford parklane Wagon - Two Tone Blue
- 2nd Place - Gerry Lagage 1956 Chevy Wagon - Yellow and White.
- 3rd Place - Steve Calauitti 1962 Ford Country Squire Wagon Blue / Woodgrain.
After the show many particapants cruised in a caravan to Bangma's Dairy Bar for an evening of food and entertainment.
Also I would like thank Gregg Anderson, the owner of the Yahoo email group Station Wagons Northeast for his part in getting the station wagon class started with this show. Gregg doesn't have a wagon as of yet, but he'll be joining us soon and is excited to meet our group in 2008.
